Barber Sound Control, HRP Contingency |
Barber Sound Control
To be on the safe side, be sure to bring your muffler with you to
Barber. Weve run there twice before and not had a problem,
but theyve asked me to pass along a concern about noise level,
so I am. The noise limit at Barber is 104db, about the same as at
the SCCA races we ran last year. if they take the noise reading
from the outside of the track (most places do, including Barber
the last two times we were there), there wont be any problem.
But just in case, bring a muffler. For new teams that may not have
used one before, simple (and inexpensive) muffler inserts that easily
slip right into the end of your tailpipe are available from Summit
Racing Equipment (800-230-3030).
HRP World Hard Charger Award
Hoerr Racing Products (HRP World) is putting up one of the more
interesting 2005 contingency awards. Now, finishing below sixth
place doesnt necessarily mean finishing out of the money.
The Hoerr Hard Charger award, given at each race, will
be a $250.00 certificate for anything from the Hoerr Racing Products
catalog for the driver who gains the most positions during the race.
The only requirement will be running the HRP sticker on your car,
and the only restriction is that a car sent to the back for a rules
infraction isnt eligible. Well have HRP stickers and
catalogs at Barber.
Tire Reminder
One more reminder that each team needs to contact Woodman Tires
to order tires in advance to be brought to the event. Their contact
information is:
