Brembo Announces Large 2008 Contingency Program With SCRRC

Brembo North America has become the Stock Car Road Racing Championship’s largest contingency sponsor with the announcement of a significant new program exclusive to this series for 2008.

Brembo will be awarding two front brake calipers with pads in each of the seven races in 2008, and the series points champion will win a set of four complete calipers with pads.

The retail value of the award is over $3,500.00 per race and the total value of the awards in 2008 from Brembo is more than $33,000.00.

The specifics: In each race in 2008, the third place finisher in the race will win two front calipers complete with pads. The award is not repeatable, which means that if there is a repeat third-place finisher, the award moves down to the fourth-place finisher, unless he or she has already won the award in 2008. In that case, the award moves down the order to the highest finisher who has not won the award in 2008.

In addition, Brembo has offered huge discounts (over 50%) on specific four-piston brake calipers and parts to competitors in the Stock Car Road Racing Championship. Details on this will be forthcoming shortly, with a list of the available parts and prices.

2008 Schedule to be Announced Next Week

The 2008 schedule will be announced the week of December 19. It will inclued three dates at VIR and one each at Road Atlanta, Lowe’s, Mid-Ohio and Daytona.

Contingency Program Expands for 2008

The remainder of the 2008 contingency program will also be announced next week. All the existing sponsors but one will be back, along with some new ones. Details coming.
