Two 2008 Rules Changes |
For 2008 there will be two alterations to the competition rules.
RPM Limit
After many discussions with every regular series competitor, we’ve decided to raise the RPM limit to 6500. The reason is flexibility, to make it easier to gear for tracks such as VIR and Road Atlanta without repeatedly riding the rev limiter in lower gears in some corners. Horsepower and torque rules will of course remain the same.
Maximum Brake Rotor Size
Marshall McLeod suggested this, and it’s a good idea. Maximum brake rotor size will increase to 13” X 1 3/8”. There are apparently some used rotors available at this size at a good price. The performance advantage – if any – in an increase of 1/4” in diameter and 1/8” thickness is negligible.
