This will come as no surprise to any of the active teams, as I’ve already discussed this on the phone with them, but this makes it official.
The first race will be May 10-11 at VIR instead of March 9-10.
Blame it on the economy, blame it on the price of gas, blame it on the early date, blame it on Hillary Clinton, but no one really wanted to run this early race, especially on only half the VIR course.
So we start May 10-11 at the SCCA Al Fairer SAARC Challenge at VIR.
Besides, The Weather Channel’s web site is predicting rain for Sunday, March 9 in Danville. And the people who were at Mid-Ohio last year don’t ever want to do that again.
